How we compute deadlines
CA-registered vehicles anchor to your DMV registration renewal month-day. Out-of-state and DMV-exempt vehicles anchor to the last day of the month CARB assigns based on your VIN's last digit. The cadence is semi-annual today; OBD-equipped vehicles move to quarterly testing for deadlines on or after January 1, 2028.
About the reminders
Reminders go out at 90, 60, and 30 days before each deadline. Each email has an "I already tested" button — one click stops the remaining reminders for that cycle. You can unsubscribe with one click in any reminder. SMS reminders are optional and require explicit opt-in.
Computed schedules are based on CARB's published Clean Truck Check rules as of 2026. Always cross-check your specific deadline in CTC-VIS (cleantruckcheck.arb.ca.gov) before relying on a date for compliance purposes.
