1. The Site

CTC Directory is an informational reference for locating CARB-credentialed Clean Truck Check testers. The Site aggregates publicly-available listing data and presents it alongside editorial content about the Clean Truck Check program. The Site is provided free of charge to the public.

2. Site use

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and not to:

• Scrape, crawl, harvest, or otherwise extract listing data in bulk for redistribution without our express written permission. Reasonable, non-commercial browsing and reading of the Site is welcomed.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Site or its underlying data schema.
• Use the Site to violate any applicable law or regulation, including making misrepresentations about CARB credentials or compliance status of any listed tester.
• Submit automated traffic (bots, headless browsers, etc.) that materially exceeds normal human browsing patterns, other than well-behaved search-engine crawlers identifying themselves via standard user-agent.

3. Listing data

Tester listings on the Site are sourced from CARB's public Clean Truck Check Vehicle Inspection System (CTC-VIS) tester database and refreshed periodically (currently weekly). We make a reasonable effort to keep listings current, but:

• We do not warrant the accuracy, currentness, or completeness of any specific listing.
• We do not warrant the quality, capability, or fitness of any listed tester for any specific compliance need.
• Inclusion of a tester in the directory is not an endorsement, certification, or guarantee by us.
• Verify a tester's current CARB credentials directly with CARB before relying on the tester for compliance work.

If you are a CARB-credentialed tester and the directory shows inaccurate information about your listing, contact us using the address in §12 and we'll review and correct.

4. Featured partners

Smart CTC and Clean Truck Check Pro (CTCP) are featured partners on the Site and are operated by the same team that operates the Site. We disclose this relationship clearly on every featured-partner card, on each respective service page, and on our editorial cornerstone pages. Other testers listed on the Site are not commercially affiliated with us.

5. Editorial content

The Site publishes editorial articles, comparisons, and walkthroughs about the Clean Truck Check program. This content reflects our best understanding as of the publication date shown on each page. Regulations and program details change. Editorial content is not legal advice and should not be relied upon for specific compliance decisions without independent verification with CARB.

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Site is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of information, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site, including but not limited to lost revenue, lost data, or compliance penalties resulting from reliance on listings or editorial content. Our aggregate liability for any direct damages arising from your use of the Site is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100).

7. Intellectual property

All editorial content, design, templates, and code on the Site are © Smart CTC LLC and its affiliates unless otherwise noted. Tester listing data is sourced from CARB's public database and is not subject to our copyright. You may reproduce small excerpts of editorial content with attribution and a link back to the source page.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

9. Third-party links

The Site contains links to third-party sites (CARB, individual testers, regulatory references, partner sites). We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, practices, or availability. Following a third-party link from the Site is at your own risk.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be flagged in a visible site notice for a reasonable period. Continued use of the Site after an update constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Site will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
